This is the third interview, I think I have good experiences for the first two interviews, the third one should be could better than before. I sent email to the people who could give me interview,and we made appointment on March 31 Saturday at 5:00pm in library. Just like first two interviews, I checked my recorder and followed the interview list. At 4:50pm I went to library. At 5:00pm we stared the interview.
Interview Report
The interview went very well, Aki is the girl who could give me interview her. She is very well. During the interview, we just like friend, we told a lot about China and Japan, she let me know a lot about Japan, for example, food, culture, and some education in Japan. I like Japan, so during the conversation, I felt very excited. Also I went thought 11 core questions, and she gave me the answers that I never know before. Anyway, Thanks Aki who let me interview.

"For over 2000 years, rice has been the most important food in Japanese cuisine. Despite changes in eating patterns over the last few decades and slowly decreasing rice consumption in recent years, rice remains one of the most important ingredients in Japan today, and can be found in numerous dishes."
During the Edo period, "sushi" refered to pickled fish preserved in vinegar. Nowadays sushi can be defined as a dish containing rice which has been prepared with sushi vinegar. There are many different types of sushi.[3]

Y: Hi, Aki how are you?
A: good, How are you?
Y: good, my name is Yang, I from China. Thanks to let me interview.
A: it's ok, my name is Aki, from Japan.
Y: Shall i stare the interview now?
A: sure.
Y: Do you like to cook?
A: yep, but i am so busy, you know, to much homework.
Y : hehe, So do you eat in Garvey?
A: yep.
Y: Which country`s food do you like the most? What are the similarities and differences between it and your own culture`s food?
A: well, I like my own country’s food the most. I am from Japan, and the food from Japan and American food are quite different. We are living on an island, so we have lots of seafood. But I don’t eat fish here, because they taste so different.
Y: wow, I never know that, I think the Japanese, also eat fish here.
A: I try to eat, but different.
Y: ok. lets move to second question.What are the typical greetings in your culture and what do they mean?
A: Our people greet each other by bowing. Sometimes it can be a simple nod, but normally and most the
time, we give olders or seniors a deeper and longer bow. The bowing means respect, thanks, apologize.
Y: That is different with China, we are shaking hands.A: sometime, we Shaking hands also.
Y:ok. What kind of government is in charge of your home country, how did it affect your life and how has democracy in America been a change?
A: Monarchy is the leader of the state. But the emperor has no government power. The Prime Minister actually has the power.
Y: ok. Could you tell me more about your government?
A: that is all i know about our government, you know, i am 17 years old.
Y: i think that is why you don't a lot about your government.
A; yep.
Y: What religious holidays or other cultural events do you or others celebrate; can you explain your traditions for each?
A: There are many holidays we celebrate, like New Year, Valentine’s Day, White Day, Sakura Matsuri, Tanabata, Hinamatsuri (Doll’s Festival).The Hina Matsuri is the Doll’s Festival. And usually it is in March 3rd. it is also the girl’s Festival. My family wish me (the daughter) a happy life. and we put dolls in the house and peach blossoms. We believe the bad luck will transfer on the dolls and we abandoning the dolls in the river.
Y: !! That is interesting.
Y: Do you have any daily rituals in regards to your religious beliefs?
A: I am Buddhism and my family is also Buddhism. We worship our Buddha almost every day. But I think it really depends on the person, some people only worship Buddha on holidays. We don’t lie, kill, or stealing.
Y: ok, ,lets move to next question.
Y:How would you describe famous sports in your country?
Y: Sumo?? I never know that. I have computer here, could you show me?
A: yes, .............................(watching Sumo)

Y: that is nice.
Y: ok next. Can you describe a typical day for a child in your country?
A: In the morning, children will have breakfast at home and then walk to school. and they must wear yellow hats and make sure the drivers can see them far away. In Japan, kids start school at about 6 years old. And school starts in April. In the school, they learn art, music, math, Japanese, writing, and many other subjects. Parents sometimes send them to tutors on weekends to get more knowledge.
Y: that is same with China.
A: really?
Y: yep, but we don't wear yellow hats, hehe...
A: hehehehe.....
Y: what different modes of transportation are used in your country?
A: Rail is the most widely used transportation in Japan. The Shinkansens is the fastest trains in the world.
Y: So do you take bus?
A: yes, but for me, i don't like bus, because there are to many people.
Y: me too.
Y: What could SCSU do to make your stay on campus better?
Y: that is good,
Y:ok, last question. Are you really? hehe...
A: yep, I am really.
Y: Could you tell me a secret about yourself that very few people here know about and that shows us well, who you are and what you stand for?
A: well, I don’t have a lot secrets because I have friends, every time I am sad, I talk to them and they will solve my problems.
A: how about you, Do you have secrets could tell me?
Y: me too, I don't think i have many secrets.
Y: well we are done.
A: ok.
